ASBAB

أسباب

Two questions, before every entry.

Shariah-aware momentum research. For Muslim investors who do their own work.

Is the setup real — and is it permissible? Asbab builds the research tools that answer both, with the evidence shown.

Research and education for your own decisions — never a recommendation, never personalised.

Automated advisory approximation — not a fatwa or certification; verify independently.

Unverified means we do not yet hold the evidence to complete that name's screen — a limit of our coverage, not a judgement about the company.

In closed beta. Access is invite-only while we test with real money on real market days.

The company

The name is the discipline.

Asbab — أسباب — is Arabic for the means: the work you take up before the outcome is out of your hands. We build research tools for that work.

Asbab is two founders and one discipline, built into working software. The rest of this page shows the work.

Services

The work, in six parts.

All six ship inside one product today. This is a map of the company's work — not a product lineup.

How it works, stage by stage

Shariah screening

Every name carries an automated Shariah screen — an AAOIFI-style business and financial-ratio approximation that runs before anything else. When the evidence is incomplete, we say so rather than guess in your favour.

IN THE TERMINAL

Automated advisory approximation — not a fatwa or certification; verify independently.

Unverified means we do not yet hold the evidence to complete that name's screen — a limit of our coverage, not a judgement about the company.

Market state

A regime read and true relative-strength percentiles, computed across the whole universe rather than against a headline index.

IN THE TERMINAL

Setup research

Volatility-contraction and coil patterns, detected on end-of-day data, graded rather than scored out loud.

IN THE TERMINAL

Trade planning

An entry level, an invalidation level, and the share count that follows from a risk budget you set yourself.

IN THE TERMINAL

Signal delivery

The system writes an end-of-day brief and flags intraday triggers on its own — and on a day with nothing worth flagging, it stays silent on purpose. Today that delivery runs for the founders' own accounts. Alerts to your own phone are not switched on for beta accounts yet, and this page will not claim otherwise until they are.

FOUNDERS' ACCOUNTS TODAY

The analyst desk

A written note on the day and on individual names, generated against the same data the board shows — and readable as a brief, not a verdict.

IN THE TERMINAL

One product. We are not going to pretend it is three.

Asbab has one product: Institutional Alpha System, a research terminal, in closed beta.

You will not find a roadmap with dates we cannot keep. Every future line of work sits on one axis — what a Muslim investor needs in order to act with confidence — and when a second thing exists, this page will say two.

The product

Institutional Alpha System

The first Asbab product: a Shariah-aware momentum research terminal. Everywhere this page says "in the terminal", it means here.

Automated advisory approximation — not a fatwa or certification; verify independently.

Unverified means we do not yet hold the evidence to complete that name's screen — a limit of our coverage, not a judgement about the company.

What you actually see

The words the terminal uses.

The actual vocabulary the terminal uses. Not a screenshot, not a mockup.

The analysis runs on end-of-day data. The intraday prices on the board are last-trade prices from a single exchange, not the consolidated tape, so they can differ from what your broker shows. Full-tape and streaming quotes are not included and are not on the near-term roadmap.

Who builds it

Two founders, one screen between them.

Asrar Mohiuddin

Founder · leads the company

The methodology came first, and it was Asrar's idea. Asrar works on the question of what separates a trade worth taking from one that merely looks like it — the stage of the market, the quality of the base, the behaviour of volume. What he wants is simple: that anyone willing to do the work can take part in the stock market with discipline rather than guesswork — and can check the questions that matter to them in one place, with the evidence shown.

Sohaib Mohiuddin

Founder · engineering and finance

Sohaib built the system and trades with it every market day, which is the reason it is honest: a shortcut would cost him first. What he wants from Asbab is a self-directed investor opening one screen in the morning and understanding exactly what they are looking at.

The founders trade this system on their own accounts every market day and may hold positions in any security it surfaces. We publish general-audience research; we do not tell anyone what to do with it.

The direction

What we are building toward

The intent is to make it ordinary for a Muslim investor to check both questions in the same place, in the same minute, without taking anyone’s word for it.

We are not naming what comes next and we are not putting a date on it. When something ships, it appears above this line as a thing that exists.

Plainly

What this is not

Not a certification.

The Shariah screen is an automated advisory approximation — not a fatwa, not an endorsement, and not a substitute for your own check or your own scholar.

Not complete.

Unverified means we do not yet hold the evidence to complete that name's screen — a limit of our coverage, not a judgement about the company.

Not advice.

Nothing here is a recommendation, nothing is tailored to you, and no adviser-client relationship is created by reading it.

Not real-time.

End-of-day analysis, single-exchange intraday prices, no consolidated tape.
